A colourful take on the transport task from Germany

Finding the right paint mix to brand a fleet or stand out on the road is always a challenge within the transport sector and Mercedes-Benz Trucks Germany have taken this idea to the next level.

This week the German truck manufacturer unveiled the Actros L Art Edition in Hanover, a colourfully decorated version of its ProCabin model that is sure to catch plenty of action as it rolls around Germany.

The vibrant vehicle was painted by artist Sven Liesy and will be touring the country’s dealerships so truck fans everywhere can take a look up close.

“Art is more than a medium – it is life, it is color, it is expression and boundless imagination,” Liesy says.

In a statement announcing the truck and the tour Mercedes-Benz Trucks says “the ProCabin becomes a visible intersection between the commercial vehicle world and art.

“The Art Edition unites core characteristics of the Actros L – such as efficiency, comfort, and optimised aerodynamics – with the artist’s individual visual language.

“The vehicle embodies a perspective that merges technology, design, and cultural exchange.

“The project demonstrates how a truck can function as a communicative element in public spaces, reaching new audiences from professional drivers to the general public.”

Liesy, who lives in Hanover and is red-green colour blind, has exhibited his neo-expressionist style of work around the world, including in Hambury, Berlin, Madrid and the Hong Kong Museum of Art.

If you happen to be in Germany in the coming months, you could find the truck on tour between April 7 and May 23.
