The Federal Government will look to give vehicle component suppliers more access to local and international supply chains through a new $20 million program launched today.
The Automotive Supply Chain Development Program (ASCDP) was set up by Minister for Industry Kim Carr after he saw the “enormous” opportunity in automotive industries in Asia during a recent to China.
“The ASCDP will boost collaboration along the supply chain to help component companies lift their capabilities and seize new opportunities,” Carr says.
“It is clear there is enormous opportunity in this [Chinese market] and other markets for efficient Australian component producers who have cutting edge products and processes.”
Successful applicants of the scheme will receive mentoring and assistance from experienced sectors of the industry as well as assistance to work with key suppliers to formulate better strategies.
