Trucking operators wanting more control over fuel usage now have access to self-bunded fuel tanks.

Distributed by Integrated Fuel Services and available in different capacities, the tanks are a stand-alone fuel storage and dispensing unit offering on-site fuelling to save operators the need to send vehicles to fuel stations.

According to Integrated Fuel Services, operators can monitor fuel usage and costs of each vehicle more effectively with a self-bunded tank than with off-site purchasing because it eliminates problems such as uncalibrated bowsers which increase fuel costs.

Self-bunded tanks start at 1000 litres and go as high as 105,000 litres, although most tanks are 10, 28 or 65,000 litres.

The company says the tanks can be used in a variety of places from jetties to mine sites and remote towns.

Whats the big deal, these things have been around for years.I,ve seen plenty that haven,t had the pumps calibrated for years and multiple trucks get filled of the one card/rego. But they are a pretty good product as far as the tank goes.
