In the face of ever tougher exhaust emission regulations, Iveco has updated its European Daily light commercial range with upgraded power and torque ratings, as well as offering improved compressed natural gas (CNG) and electric motor versions.
With a minimum of Euro 4 compliance, as well as Euro 5 and enhanced envirionmentally friendly vehicles (EEV) compliance on specific models, the base 2.3-litre engine now offers between 71kW and 100kw of power and 240Nm and 320Nm of torque while the larger 3.0-litre V6 engine offers between 107kW and 125kW, with torque outputs between 350Nm and 400Nm.
The CNG version of the 3.0-litre engine is slightly down on power by comparison, with 100kW and 350Nm.
For zero emission situations, Iveco is also offering all electric versions, the 35C and 50S models, with 30kW (60kW peak) and 40kW (80kW peak) respectively of continuous power.
Recharged via a three-phase plug, the electric version takes eight hours to completely charge the batteries, which gives a range of up to 130 kilometres at a maximum speed of 70km/h, when fitted with the optional extra battery.
Iveco says the driving experience is made as normal as possible with a gear shift for forward, reverse and neutral, as well as brake and accelerator pedals, with speed control via sensors on the pedals.
