The Hino 714 Hybrid light truck is continuing to win friends, with Brisbane rental and leasing company Sargent ordering a hybrid truck for its Brisbane-based fleet.
Sargent purchased the Hino Hybrid in response to growing demand from its customers for products with reduced environmental impact.
Sargent managing director Mary Ann Strelow says the 714 has met expectations, particularly in relation to its environmental credentials.
"Although the Hino Hybrid is still new within our fleet, we have received positive feedback from customers." Sargent is working with its clients to push for new technology and a greater acceptance of hybrid technology in the Australian market.
"Sargent continues to actively pursue opportunities to reduce emissions and, in general, our carbon footprint,” Strelow says.
The 714 has a lighter, more powerful electric motor than the superseded model, and increased main battery and inverter power, delivering improved efficiency, reliability and driveability.
