Heavy duty Freightliners caught in engine recall

Hundreds of Coronado and Argosy units at fuel leak risk

Freightliner Coronado and Argosy trucks equipped with DD15TC EPA07/ADR80/03 engines are the subject of a recall notice.

The trucks are from Model Years 2017-2019 and 501 of them are affected.

“Fuel may leak from the engine’s high pressure fuel rail feed lines,” the notice states.

“If a fuel leak occurs, this may cause a subsequent engine fire, which could result in serious injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Owners are to be contacted “shortly with a letter and a list of Authorised Freightliner/Detroit Diesel Dealerships will be provided”.

They are urged to make contact and arrange a time to have the two high pressure fuel rail feed lines and supporting hardware replaced, free of charge.

Further information can be gained by contacting Daimler Truck and Bus Australia Pacific Pty Ltd on 1800 033 557.

The full VIN list can be found here.
