Hino delivers all-new 500 Series Standard Cab

Hino’s all-new 500 Series Standard Cab hits Australia's shores, offering 54 different models across the FC, FD, and FE models.

“In order to satisfy the ever-expanding requirements of our customers, we need to offer buyers the best possible choice of specifications to suit their requirements,” says Hino Australia’s Manager of Product Strategy, Daniel Petrovski.

“When launching a Hino truck, customers know they will receive benchmark levels of safety and technology combined with reliability and operational efficiencies – with the 500 Series Standard Cab, we have increased our range in applications.

“When we look across our entire 500 Series range of Standard and Wide Cab models, we are confident we can effectively support almost any application in the Australian medium duty segment.”

Hino will offer three Standard Cab variants – a Short Cab (FC), a Rest Cab with ADR42 sleeper compliance (FD & FE) and Crew Cab (FD & FE).

The FE Crew Cab is new to the lineup and will be the only Japanese 14,000kg 4×2 Crew Cab model in the medium duty market down under.

“The FC model will join the FD at 11,000kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), which will provide FC customers with a significant increase in payload when compared to previous FC models at 10,400kg GVM.

“The FE model will continue to be offered with GVMs of 12,000kg and 14,000kg according to customer requirements,” says Petrovski.

The 500 Series Standard Cab is now offered with the option of a six-speed Allison 2500 automatic transmission across the cab-chassis range in addition to the manual and automated manual options.

“The range will continue to include the popular FC factory tipper model, which will be significantly boosted by the increase in GVM to a class-leading 11,000 kg.

“In addition to the tippers, we will continue to see strong interest for steel trays, taut liners and van or Pantech bodies, and expect to continue our strong representation with tilt tray bodies and tow trucks, as well as the myriad of other specialised vocational applications where Hino is a popular choice,” says Petrovski.

The Hino 500 Series Standard Cab is now available at Hino dealerships nationwide.
