Hino 700 suspension problem leads to recall

Traffic hazard or risk to people identified as possible outcome

Hino 700s sold during much of the decade are subject to a recall due to the risks related to an air suspension problem.

At issue for 210 affected vehicles is the interface with leaf stopper.

“Air suspension systems may contain wrong material for the leaf stopper,” the recall notice reads.

“While driving, the stopper and Leaf come into contact when travelling over a speed bump, and the load may not be fully absorbed.

“If the stopper fatigues, cracks and falls out the truck; this may cause a traffic hazard and risk to people in the immediate area.”

Owners of affected vehicles are urged to contact their local Hino dealership for a free of charge rebound roller replacement.

Consumers can contact Hino on 1300 01 HINO (1300 014 466) or their preferred dealer.
