Light fault sparks UD Quon recall

Headlights could suddenly turn off due to wiring fault, ACCC says

About 65 UD Quon trucks have been recalled over an electrical fault that could cause the vehicle’s headlights to suddenly turn off.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a recall notice for the vehicles, which were sold nation-wide between January 1, 2017 and February 23, 2018.

The Commission says improper crimping of the internal wire terminals mean the vehicle headlights might not illuminate when the stalk switch is turned on and might suddenly turn off, or illuminate intermittently while driving.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by direct mail and advised to contact their nearest Volvo Group Australia repairing dealer to arrange an inspection and repair of damaged vehicles.

Vehicle owners can also contact Volvo for more information, the ACCC says.

A full list of the vehicle identification numbers of the recalled trucks is available here.
