Hino offers technician tracking

Tracking app latest offer in Hino's after-sales package

Hino drivers left stranded will be able to track the progress of technicians sent to help them through its partnership with National Transport Insurance (NTI).

The trucking company will use NTI’s Truck Assist App to power a new application that will see stranded customers sent an SMS link to a map that updates them on the location of their service technician in real-time.

Hino Motor Sales Australia CEO Steve Lotter said the app would also help improve the response time by assigning breakdown cases to the nearest available technician more efficiently.

The company offers buyers of new Hino trucks access to its Roadside Assist program for free for the first three years after their purchase, part of an after-sales service package Lotter says is drawing more to the company.

“It now includes a capped price service program, along with Hino Traq telematics, Hino genuine parts, finance options, and customer support provisions via our customer care centre,” he says.

It comes after the company extended its capped price service program to include all Hino trucks compliant with Euro 5 emissions in March.

“Hino is the only truck manufacturer in Australia to offer a capped price service program – this provides customers with the ability to budget ahead, reduce overall operating costs and peace of mind,” he says.
