Isuzu revels in 2016 business memories

Improved truck sales marked company’s 100 years in the business

Having taken out the top gong in the Australian truck sales market, Isuzu Australia reflects upon its milestones set during the past year.

Isuzu noted a 12 per cent increase in trucks sales compared to the previous year, with 8,307 trucks sold in 2016 as opposed to 7,442 in 2015.

The company saw strong results across all segments, with light-duty recording a 15 per cent growth in total volume.

Its medium-duty segment dominated with a 43 per cent market share and sales volume up 10 per cent.

The heavy-duty segment saw a six per cent volume increase on a relatively flat market growth scale.

“This achievement is a reflection of Isuzu’s dominant status in the Australian truck market,” Isuzu Australia COO Phil Taylor says.

“It’s a telling result and validates our aim to successfully tap into the needs and desires of Australian transport consumers year after year.”

Last year also marked the Isuzu Motors’ 100th anniversary since its beginning in Japan as a joint venture between a shipbuilding company and an energy producer.

Additionally, November 2016 saw the sale of the company’s 200,000th vehicle.

Taylor says the company’s focus on customer service is a key factor behind its local accomplishments.

“We’re consistently taking a microscope to our operations to ensure we’re doing everything within our power to meet the demands and shifting needs of Australian business owners.

“It’s this mantra of continued improvement that contributes heavily to these kinds of milestones.”

Taylor is hopeful the company will exceed expectations this year.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, Isuzu has the very best people in the business.

“From our extremely professional dealer network to our world class service technicians, it’s ultimately the people that make the wheel turn in the right direction,” he said.

“I’m not only proud of Isuzu’s market leading results; I’m excited for an even more successful 2017.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to improve the one-of-a-kind Isuzu ownership experience.”
