Scania recalls P and G Series models

Trucks recalled after Scania discovered a braking defect

Scania has issued three recall notices concerning P and G Series trucks on the back of brake issues.

According to an Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice, a select number of G 400 8×4, P 320 4×2, P 320 6×4, and P 360 8×4 models sold nationally feature a “deviation in the joint between the two halves of the spring brake chambers in the parking brake circuit”.

“The deviation may cause the spring brake chambers to split at the flange, which affects the safety of the vehicle,” the ACCC notices say.

“If the defect occurs it will result in reduced braking, which poses a hazard to the driver and other road users.”

Owners of all affected vehicles should contact their Scania dealer and make an appointment to have the problem solved.
