Pirtek buys US franchise in consolidation move

Move coincides with private equity splashing cash for Europe arm

Australian-owned international fluid transfer products and services firm Pirtek has bought its US franchise for an undisclosed sum.

Pirtek Fluid Transfer Solutions, owned by the Duncan family and headquartered in Sydney, states that the purchase will strengthen its existing partnerships in Africa, Canada, China, Mongolia, New Zealand and Singapore.

“As a group, this will allow Pirtek to broaden the customer base with a high level of corporate strength and stability, while increasing market share, setting long term objectives and outcomes that we can all be proud of,” Pirtek international director Glenn Duncan says of the franchise platform’s move.

“We would like to extend our thanks to Morgan Arundel, president of Pirtek USA, for giving us the opportunity to bring the United States into our group of companies.

“We are looking forward to working with the team in America well into the future.”

It comes as a time of some change at related businesses, with Pirtek Europe bought last Wednesday by mid-market-focused US private equity firm Halifax Group, in what the Australian parent describes as an independent and unconnected purchase.
