National transport operator Freight Specialists is continuing its expansion into regional South Australia after taking over Danzic Freight.
Freight Specialists recently finalised its deal with the regional carrier, which runs depots in Port Lincoln, Port Augusta, Whyalla, Ceduna and Roxby Downs.
Danzic Freight runs daily services from its Adelaide facility to Eyre Peninsular and the far north of the state.
Freight Specialists recently purchased Kassulke Transport, which services the Riverland region.
The company says the latest acquisition is the second part of a four stage project to gain complete coverage of regional South Australia.
“This move, along with our current expansion in other states by acquisition and investment in new infrastructure, will further boost our growth and provides our customers with direct access to all regional areas in Australia and specialised warehousing and distribution services,” Freight Specialists Managing Director Leigh Smith says.
He says Freight Specialist is ideally placed to take advantage of the need for specialist transport services in regional Australia due to the company’s national network of operations.
The company says Danzic Freight customers will benefit from the takeover because they will have access to all of the Freight Specialists national services.
The founder of Danzic Freight, Greg Danzic, will remain with the company at a senior level based in Whyalla.
Freight Specialists began in 1987 and originally covered NSW regional areas before expanding its footprint into other states.
As well as handling hardware, appliances and beverages, the operator also delivers dangerous goods, pharmaceuticals and vehicle parts.
