Sydney container haulage firm Paradigm Engineering is planning to contest fines imposed on its trucks at Port Botany.
Paradigm partner Warren Symonds, who is also linked to Alltrans Logistics, believes the former Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA), now Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), went beyond its remit in fining his trucks as they left the CTAL gates to travel a short distance so their cargo could be broken down to legal volumes.
Symonds, is no stranger to legal challenges and who is regarded as a burr under the saddle of authorities and stevedores at the port, claims the road is on private land and that proper weighing procedures were not followed. ...
