Victoria’s opposition leader has been accused of breaking his promise to release an integrated transport policy, while the Brumby Government fends off claims it has let the state down.
Minister for Roads and Ports Tim Pallas yesterday asked Ted Baillieu to cough up his promised transport plan, saying he promised to roll it out progressively on June 11 last year.
“Victoria is still waiting for Baillieu to stop opposing everything and stand for something,” Pallas says.
He says Baillieu has only threatened to scrap billions of dollars from key transport projects, while the Government has got on with upgrading the Monash and West Gate freeways.
But in an interview with ATN, Baillieu promised to “honour any contracts” if elected when Victorians go to the polls on November 27 this year.
Pallas says Baillieu has “failed to meet his promise to Victorians”, while Pallas says the Opposition continues to refuse to tell the state what it will do if elected.
