An investigation is continuing into a fatal accident between a blind man and a truck in NSW yesterday.
The Bowral man from the state’s Southern Highlands died shortly before 5pm when he tried to cross a street and walked between a truck’s tipper and dog trailer while the vehicle was stopped at the traffic lights.
The driver was unaware of the pedestrian and drove the truck away when the lights turned green.
Police say the 56-year-old man died at the scene and the driver was stopped by witnesses to the incident. The49-year-old driver was taken hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests and was released after being interviewed by police. Forensic investigators attended the scene and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
