January 27, 2010Diesel prices fell by an average of 1.9 cents per litre for the week ending January 22, following massive six-month highs the last couple of weeks.

pricing data from the
Australian Institute of Petroleum shows prices in all states apart from Darwin hovering around the 116 to 117 cents per litre mark throughout the week.
Diesel in Melbourne was the cheapest in the country at 116.1 cents per litre, followed by Brisbane and Sydney which averaged 116.3 and 116.4 cents per litre respectively.
The price of diesel in Adelaide averaged 116.6 cents per litre, with Darwin again the most expensive region with prices averaging 121 cents per litre.
The price was 3.6 cents higher than Perth which finished as the second most expensive city for the week at 117.4 cents per litre.
