November 24, 2009Diesel prices have fallen for the first time in six weeks by an average of 1.9 cents per litre for the week ending November 22.

pricing data from the
Australian Institute of Petroleum shows prices in all states apart from Darwin hovering around the 113.5 to 114.7 cents per litre mark throughout the week.
Diesel in Melbourne was the cheapest in the country, averaging 113.4 cents per litre. The price was closely followed by Brisbane and Sydney which averaged 113.6 cents and 113.7 cents per litre respectively.
Adelaide averaged 114 cents per litre, while Darwin was the most expensive place with an average price of 118.3 cents a litre.
The figure was 3.6 cents higher than Perth which finished as the second most expensive city for the week at 114.7 cents a litre.
