The NSW road toll has continued to rise after a woman died when her car collided with a truck on the south coast yesterday.
Police are still investigating the incident which happened about 2.05pm on the Princes Highway at Conjola.
According to police, the 76-year-old woman crossed onto the incorrect side of the road and collided head on with the truck.
She died at the scene but the 30-year-old truck driver was not injured. The incident forced police to close the Princes Highway in both directions while investigations were carried out.
The NSW road toll is currently 417, which is 94 more deaths than this time last year.
The fatality at Conjola follows the recent accident when a car carrying four people collided with a B-double on November 15 on the Hume Highway.
The four car occupants died at the scene but have not been identified, while the truck driver was taken to hospital suffering shock and minor injuries.
Witnesses say a silver Honda Accord crossed the median strip and hit the B-double travelling in the opposite direction.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner, and any witnesses have been urged to contact Shoalhaven Police on 1800 333 000.
