With three sites already operational at Koroit, Leongatha and Deer Park, Kleenheat Gas says it is looking to build another EVOL LNG refuelling station in southwestern Victoria.
Brad Lowson, EVOL LNG manager, says Victoria's southwest is home to a large number of transport operators around Warrnambool, Portland and Hamilton, while Mount Gambier in neighbouring South Australia is also base for a number of fleets.
"A number of high profile Victorian-based fleets including the Murray Goulbourn Cooperative, Cootes Transport and Kalari already operate LNG-powered trucks with EVOL LNG,” Lowson says.
"The addition of an EVOL LNG refueller in this region would benefit existing fleets while also encouraging prospective customers to trial LNG technology."
With Australia holding a large portion of the world’s LNG reserves, users are insulated from currency fluctuations and the volatility of oil pricing, while LNG-powered trucks are quieter and can produce significantly less particulate matter and nitrogen oxides emissions than equivalent diesel trucks.
Lowson says a commitment to an EVOL LNG refuelling station was the ideal means by which local fleets could experience the benefits of LNG before making a larger multi vehicle commitment.
EVOL LNG is inviting heavy vehicle fleet owners and operators to attend an information session at the South West Institute of TAFE, Warrnambool Campus on the evening of Tuesday 14, July, where further details and information will be revealed.
