Robert Cosgrove, better known as Bob Cosgrove, passed away on June 19 after battling cancer for the past few years. He was 67.

A well known driver Australia wide, Bob started driving with his father at age 14 and went on to drive over five million kilometres in his career. He drove for a number of companies including Brambles and Tipping Bros Heavy Haulage. He also owned three small trucking businesses, the last one being Kismet Transport in Sydney before relocating to the Gold Coast.

For the past 11 years Bob worked for SRV Road Freight, a company owned by his son Errol.

The funeral was held on June 27. Errol organised a 20-truck convoy which left the SRV Road Freight depot at Yatala at 12pm, travelling with two police escorts to a chapel at nearby Stapylton. More than 150 people attended, including many from the trucking industry.
