Former industry body head Jodie Broadbent moves to health sector
A recruitment process is underway to find a new general manager for Road Freight NSW (RFNSW), with Jodie Broadbent due to leave on Friday.
Broadbent departs after more than three years at the helm of what was formerly ATA NSW.
“In the interim, TruckSafe national manager Justin Fleming is heading to Sydney from Monday 25 January to help with the transition and make sure Road Freight NSW members have a smooth transition and access to all their usual services,” a Australian Trucking Association (ATA) spokesperson confirms to ATN.
For her part, Broadbent tells ATN the offer of an “amazing” position at the Medical Weightloss Institute in Sydney had proved “too good to pass up”.
Broadbent first revealed her move in her group’s publication, Freight News, in December.
“Finally, it is with great sadness that I advise that I will be leaving Road Freight NSW early next year to pursue my professional career in the health sector,” she wrote.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the trucking industry.
“I would like to thank you all for your support, particularly during my time with Road Freight NSW.”
It is understood her replacement’s task will include continuing Road Freight NSW’s direction towards more autonomy.
The goal is for RFNSW to function in a similar way to other state associations.
“Road Freight NSW will continue to operate as it has in the past; as a stand-alone member organisation representing trucking operators in NSW, and as a member of the ATA,” Broadbent says.
