Green Light Day promotes industry careers

Students to learn about transport and logistics careers from industry leaders

New South Wales students will have the chance to find out more on transport and logistics career paths tomorrow with the annual Green Light Day event taking place across the state.

The event enables year 10 and 11 students from metropolitan Sydney, Western Sydney, Richmond and Port Kembla areas to speak with industry leaders in aviation, logistics operation, transport, maritime and rail to understand the industry opportunities.

“The event is a NSW based industry and government supported awareness day to highlight the wide range of opportunities and diverse experiences the transport and logistics (T&L) industry can offer,” the event describes.

A series of open days will be running at industry locations and representatives from government agencies and transport and logistics companies will be on hand to answer questions.

Over the course of the day students will be able to visit the National Information and Communications Technology Australia (NICTA) in Eveleigh, the Transport Training Centre in Petersham, the RAAF Base in Richmond, Woolworths’ Minchinbury Distribution Centre and Port Kembla.

Goodie bags will also be on offer for students.
