TruckSafe announces four new members

Four businesses get the transport industry accreditation program tick

TruckSafe has welcomed four new members to its fold, with CBG Transport, Transedel, Simpsons Fuel and Lillyvale Livestock Carriers joining the transport industry accreditation program this week.

The program’s chairman, Stephen Marley, applauded the new members’ choice to operate with a safety-first mindset, having passed its requirements to maintain work practices, driver training and health, vehicles and management systems.

“I’m delighted to welcome CBG Transport, Transedel Pty Ltd, Simpsons Fuel and Lillyvale Livestock Carriers to the TruckSafe family,” Marley says.

“When a business is TruckSafe accredited, you know they’ve committed themselves to putting safety first – safety in their fleet, for their staff, and for their community.”

The first of the new members, Lillyvale Livestock Carriers, has added the TruckSafe accreditation to its 2012 TruckCare membership. The transport service operates for the Lillyvale feedlot in Condamine, Queensland.

The second member hails from Newcastle, where CBG Transport is a family-owned, two-truck business that focuses on local liquor deliveries in the Lake Macquarie area. Its director Chad Grintell says the program is highly regarded by his customers.

“I think TruckSafe just makes everything about your operation look a bit more professional, and it also helps improve safety in many areas,” he says.

The first of two new Victorian members, Transedel Pty Ltd runs a cattle transport service throughout the state and New South Wales. Opening its doors in 1994 as an owner-driver operation, Ian Einsiedel has grown the company to a fleet of four B-doubles and two truck and dog combinations.

“I’m happy to be part of TruckSafe, and I think it’s a great thing to have it include TruckCare going forward,” Einsiedel says.

“It ticks a lot of boxes, particularly with chain of responsibility for your customers. I hope this shows the little companies like us that TruckSafe is not just for the big boys – it can really help you out, particularly with getting procedures in place.”

Rounding out the new TruckSafe members is family-owned Simpsons Fuel, who has been supplying fuel to those around Alexandria since 1953.

“Joining TruckSafe was all about implementing best practice into the business, and has brought a whole lot of things into our operation,” general manager Gordon Simpson says.

“My son is involved in the business as well, and we’re going to enjoy the changes, I think.”
