Don Watson Transport Managing Director Noelene Watson was recently elected the new chair of the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).
She has come a long way since her husband’s death in 1994.
For most of her career she has forged her way by simply knuckling down and getting on with it.
Involved with the ATA for nine years, she was elected as ATA Chair in March, replacing David Simon after his four-year stint.
Whilst she’s still learning the ropes, Watson plans to improve the industry’s image and hopes to promote better health and wellbeing of drivers.
She also wants to work with the New South Wales Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) and other state authorities to improve the relationship with the industry.
