AHG appoints Kerr to lead two firms

Former Volgren GM of sales has been appointed to lead Genuine Truck Bodies along with Vehicle Storage and Engineering Solutions

Experienced transport executive Tony Kerr has been tapped on the shoulder to lead two of Automotive Holdings Group’s (AHG) brands, Genuine Truck Bodies (GTB) and Vehicle Storage and Engineering Solutions (VSE).

Kerr arrives at AHG as executive general manager after five years at bus manufacturer Volgren. He has previously held positions at TNT, Scania and Skilled Group.

GTB manufactures and modifies a wide range of rigid truck bodies and trailers, while VSE offers logistics, high security storage and delivery services for car and truck dealerships and transport companies.

“Tony’s appointment and background will add value to the existing business units and will allow us to continue to focus on laying an excellent foundation for future profitable growth,” AHG Managing Director Bronte Howson says.

Kerr says both businesses have a lot to offer the trucking industry.

“We have the latest technologies, a highly-trained workforce, modern facilities and innovative new products at a one-stop location, offering the truck market place business solutions to meet specific customer requirements,” he says.

AHG is Australia’s largest automotive retailer, with operations in Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. Its businesses include refrigerated goods carriers Rand Transport and Harris Refrigerated Transport.
