ATN posts category-leading CAB growth

Latest Circulation Audit Board result for 6-month period to March 2011 reinforces Australasian Transport News strong position as Australia’s leading road transport management publication

May 24, 2011

The latest Circulation Audit Board (CAB) result for the 6-month period from October 2010 to March 2011 has reinforced Australasian Transport News’ (ATN) strong position as Australia’s leading road transport management publication with a net distribution of 11,547 copies per issue.

For the current audit the magazine recorded a 3 percent increase in net distribution from the same time last year, and 1 percent rise period-on-period. No other road transport title – with the exception of Big Rigs – participated in the audit.

Graham Gardiner, Editor-in-Chief of Trader Business Media (TBM), publisher of ATN, attributes the strong result to an increasing preference among owners and managers of road transport fleets for ATN’s quality content.

Led by Managing Editor Rob McKay, ATN draws on the country’s most experienced, knowledgeable and professional transport and logistics reporting team to deliver high-quality news and features on issues of direct relevance and value to its target readership.

“Our strategy of investing in quality journalism that arms readers with the information and intelligence they need to better manage their businesses, rather than relying on content sourced from PR and marketing consultants, clearly differentiates ATN from its competitors,” he says.

“The latest CAB result – and the near 30 percent increase in unique visitors to the ATN website between April 2010 and April 2011 – provides stark evidence that key decision makers in the nation’s road transport industry are increasingly turning to ATN to stay informed and gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.”

As the only transport management magazine to be CAB audited, this strong result reinforces why ATN continues to be the most cost-efficient medium to reach decision-makers in the transport industry, Gardiner adds, through a multimedia package that comprises:

  • The monthly ATN magazine, a high-gloss publication featuring the latest industry news, analysis of issues facing operators, case studies of how others are dealing with them, and the best equipment and accessories reviews.
  • The daily ATN news website, Fullyloaded.com.au, which breaks the big news 24-7, with its unique mix of the latest industry and technical news and business tools including employment website TransJobs.com.au.
  • The daily ATN e-news bulletin, Fullyloaded, which delivers the day’s top stories direct to the inboxes of some 2,000 key decision makers in the transport industry.
  • The bi-annual TruckSearch, Australia’s No.1 truck, trailer and accessories buyers’ guide, featuring the key specifications of all makes and models available on the Australian market.
