Welcome to our monthly info column for the all new Brisbane Truck Show to be held on May 5-8 at our new home, the world class Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC).

By the time this issue is received the New Year will be in full swing. 2011 promises to be a big year for the show and its evolution at the BCEC. It also marks a new level of emission requirements with ADR 80/03 (Euro 5 equivalent) coming into effect.

There is no doubt that all the major truck manufacturers will have new models and all new vehicles to show with the latest technology to meet this more stringent requirement. However, it’s not all about the trucks and you, the visitor will be treated to a world class display of vehicle and component technology in all three levels of the BCEC, the first time any event has done so in its 15-year history.

I recently travelled to Sydney and enjoyed visiting the industry’s only major motor (car) show which now alternates annually between Sydney and Melbourne. While it was a very professional show it left me feeling extremely proud of what our industry can do and I have no doubt that come May 5-8 the heavy vehicle Industry will turn it on and show the world just what great engineering and technology resides here.

I can also confidently state that The Brisbane Truck Show will have plenty of character and atmosphere to match the impressive displays. We can’t wait to welcome you to Brisbane.

Visit our website www.brisbanetruckshow.com.au for all the show information and then go to the OzAccom link to book early for the best deals.

On behalf of the CVIAQ and the Brisbane Truck Show team please have a very merry and safe holiday season.

Cheers for now,

Brett Wright
